2026 NY Music Month Bringing 60+ Free Events Across NYC

New York City is kicking off the ninth annual New York Music Month with a month-long lineup of free programming designed to support artists, music professionals, and fans throughout all five boroughs. Hook & Reel Bringing Live Music to Canarsie

Hook & Reel is turning up the energy in Southeast Brooklyn with the debut of “Sunday Live at the Reel,” a new Sunday evening experience bringing live R&B music, cocktails, and a vibrant atmosphere to Canarsie. Featuring performances by Out of the Blue, the event aims to give local residents another reason to stay local for entertainment, dining, and nightlife.

NYC Parks Unveils Free Summer Movie Series

NYC Parks and the NYC Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment have announced the 2026 schedule for the popular “Movies Under the Stars” series, bringing more than 300 free outdoor movie screenings to parks across all five boroughs from spring through fall. The citywide program will feature family favorites, blockbuster films, documentaries, independent movies, student showcases, and special soccer-themed screenings tied to the FIFA World Cup. Expanded to additional neighborhood parks and playgrounds this year, the series aims to provide affordable, family-friendly entertainment while bringing communities together through film in outdoor spaces throughout New York City.
